How You’ll Benefit from Our Dental Technology

May 29, 2018Dr. James MunroDental Technology

Dentistry keeps advancing and at Parkview Dental we stay up-to-date by incorporating the latest technology to help make procedures more efficient, affordable, and accurate. These technological advances make treatment more convenient for you.

Advanced technology allows us to perform more of the preparatory work for dental treatments in our office–such as creating models of the teeth–instead of depending on a dental laboratory which can delay treatment by weeks. Many procedures, including the placement of dental implants, can be performed more accurately using advanced technology. It also allows us to reduce the number of steps required for many procedures.

The bottom line is that you’ll spend less time in the dental office and have your procedures completed in fewer visits, ultimately saving you time and money and providing a more accurate, dependable outcome.

Our Dental Technology

With advancements continuing to be made in all areas of dentistry, new equipment and techniques will be developed to further improve patient care and the reliability of your results. We currently feature the following technology at our Pembroke, ON practice.

Digital X-rays create detailed images of the teeth and bones using lower radiation than traditional x-rays. These images are available immediately and can be viewed on a monitor that both you and Dr. Munro can see.

Digital impressions are used in many procedures, such as crowns and dentures, that require an exact model of the teeth. With digital impressions using the iTero system, we can create clear digital images of the entire mouth without needing to use messy impression materials.

Intraoral cameras take pictures of the inside of your mouth and display them on a monitor in our treatment rooms so you can see what we see.

Guided surgery techniques allow us to plan the placement of dental implants in much less time than traditional methods. For guided surgery, we create 3D digital models of your smile that can be manipulated virtually, allowing Dr. Munro to plan the precise placement of your implants before surgery for a more accurate outcome and reduced recovery time.
