From digital impressions to computer-guided surgical plans, we strive to complete treatments quickly and accurately. Take a look at just a few advancements in dental technology that we offer here in our Pembroke office.

iTero Intraoral Scanner: Fast, Comfortable 3D Dental Impressions

The iTero intraoral scanner is an intraoral camera and a 3D dental technology program that combines images of your jaws into a comprehensive model. With our intraoral camera, Dr. Munro will take pictures of each tooth in your mouth.

Using these pictures, we’ll design a 3D model of your smile on-screen. Dr. Munro can use this model to understand the nuances in your teeth placement, condition of the bone, and more. Plus, our patients have even commented on how comfortable this technology is!

The Benefits of Digital Impressions and Radiographs

Digital images and models of patients’ mouths can have untold benefits for patients and oral health providers. Because both parties can see images of their smiles, Dr. Munro can explain in detail how your treatment works.

Additionally, Dr. Munro can use these models to plan treatments, such as dentures, dental bridges, crowns, and other restorative dentistry services. Dental technology like iTero has streamlined the dental implant placement process.

Guided Surgery for Implants

In the past, dentists planned dental implant processes over several days or weeks, using 2D X-rays to build a rough model of your smile. Thankfully, using new training and technology, we can plan your treatment faster and with better detail than ever before. We’ll change the 3D model of your smile virtually, allowing Dr. Munro to place mock implants in the virtual model and determine any complications ahead of time.

With this new dental technology, implants can be planned and placed more quickly and with better detail. While patients should allow appropriate healing time before trying solid food, a complete smile is just a few appointments away.

Advanced Imaging Techniques

At Parkview Dental, we utilize cutting-edge imaging techniques that enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning. Technologies such as digital X-rays and 3D imaging allow for a detailed view of your dental anatomy, ensuring that we can identify issues early and tailor treatments to your specific needs.

Digital X-rays, for instance, reduce radiation exposure significantly compared to traditional X-rays while providing instant results. This means that patients can receive immediate feedback and treatment options, streamlining the dental care process and improving overall patient experience.

Benefits of 3D Imaging in Dentistry

3D imaging plays a crucial role in modern dentistry, providing a comprehensive view of the oral cavity that traditional methods cannot match. At Parkview Dental, we employ 3D imaging to gain a better understanding of complex dental structures, which aids in precise treatment planning and execution.

This technology allows for accurate assessments of tooth positioning and bone structure, which is particularly beneficial for procedures like implants and orthodontics. By visualizing the entire dental landscape, our team can devise more effective treatment strategies, ultimately leading to better outcomes for our patients.

Patient-Centric Technology Integration

Parkview Dental is dedicated to integrating technology that prioritizes patient comfort and efficiency. Our commitment to patient-centric care means we continuously seek out the latest advancements in dental technology to enhance the overall experience for our clients.

For example, the use of the iTero intraoral scanner not only improves the accuracy of dental impressions but also eliminates the discomfort associated with traditional methods. This scanner allows for quick, precise digital impressions that can be used for a variety of treatments, making dental visits more pleasant and less time-consuming for our patients.

Future of Dental Technology

The future of dental technology is bright, and Parkview Dental is at the forefront of these advancements. We are continuously exploring innovative solutions that can further improve patient care and treatment outcomes, ensuring that our practice remains a leader in dental technology.

Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and augmented reality are set to revolutionize the dental field. By adopting these advancements, we aim to enhance diagnostic capabilities and provide patients with even more personalized treatment plans, reinforcing our commitment to high-quality dental care.
